Datacorruption in the chip EEPROM. |
1. In the process of PCI-card installation only one device with the code PCIVEN_14F1&DEV_8800 (for example, “ Prof 7300 DVB-S/S2”) is detected and drivers are installed for it. The second device with the code PCIVEN_14F1&DEV_8802 (for example, “Prof 7300 DVB-S/S2 TS Capture”)can not be detected by the system. it is possible to see ID-codes of the devices via Device Manager. By the example of Prof-7300 DVB-S/S2 TS Capture: «Control Panel» - «System» – «Equipment» – «Device Manager» – «Sound, video and gaming devices» – «Prof 7300 DVB-S/S2 TS Capture” – «Data» – «Device copy code». 2. Devices detection and drivers installation is performed for both devices (from point 1) but when an antenna is for sure tuned and settings of the viewer program are correct or Prof IP DATA DVB-card does not how the traffic flow. The statistics on the basis of PID (you should see it in AltDVB via the menu «Tools” – «TS Analyzer”, in DVBdream via the menu «Analysis” – «Pid statistics”) shows a blank window. The list of available PIDs is not shown on request in the program Prof IP DATA). |
The first 8 bytes of EEPROM of cards Prof-6200 V1.0,Prof-7300 V1.0,Prof-7301 V2.3 can be damaged in cases of failures with the card power supply. This means that those cards which are being operated in PC with a power unit poor in quality or with a power supply which does not meet charging requirements. The percentage of cards with defect EEPROM is quite small (about 1 pc per 2000-3000 pcs) even taking into consideration that "shit" which buyers use as a power unit. When one of the first 4 bytes is damaged the symptom #1 is revealed, when bytes from the second part of 4 bytes are damaged the symptom #2 is revealed. |
To check the content of EEPROM of DVB-cards Prof and to recover it if required you can with the help of the utility EEprom Recovery. Beta-version of the utility operates with cards Prof-6200 V1.0, Prof-7300 V1.0, Prof-7301 V2.3 and is vailable to download at: http://www.prof-tuners.com/download/eeprom/EEpromRecoverySetup.exe |

Mechanic damage of coil L3 in Prof-7300. |
Damage of coil L3 (the highest element in a black cover in PCB Prof-7300), or corruption of bonding of L3 leads. And meanwhile the coil “is swinging” (is moving from side to side) or is rent away from PCB. |
L3 is not properly located in PCB Prof-7300. When DVB-card is being installed or withdrawn from PCI-slot carelessly the coil can be damaged. |
It is required to insert Prof-7300 in PCI-slot. You should hold DVB-card by its edges trying to avoid touching the coil L3. In Prof-6200 a coil analogous by construction is located in more comfortable place and is subject to mechanic damage. In cards Prof-7301 and Prof-8000 the coil of such construction is not used. |

Abruption of power circuit LNB by reason that connection of cables was performed “on the go”. |
Detection and installation of drivers for new devices is made without problems. But the card cannot provide satellite reception. The card does not form constant power voltage of LNB (this voltage can be measured by means of volt meter connected to the outlet LNB IN) about 13 V at the vertical polarization and about 18 V at the horizontal polarization. |
If «Device Operation Rules» are violated and connection of cables is performed “on the go” (coaxial cable and USB-cable in Prof-1100 and Prof-7500)corruption of power circuit of LNB. Lock is absent because converter power is not in the antenna cable. The reasons are described in more detail in question 16, section FAQ. |
You can (at your own peril) try to recover power circuits of LNB at DVB-card that is on the blink because of the violation of "Operation Rules". These are recommendations that will help you in this matter: In this table transistors and a resistor (with indications on PCB) which are recommended for replacement of elements that are on the blink after violation of "Operation Rules" are enumerated. See Table 1 to point 3. Instead of the indicated transistors their analogs or other elements close to them can be installed. If you have difficulty with purchase of P-channel low-powered MOSFET in package of SOT-23E (position APM2305) then you can follow another variant: instead of a transistor that is on the blink braze a jumper to the card (between pins D and S) and meanwhile power switching of LNB will stop working (if PC or USB-card is switched on power will always be in the cable)but you can use the card for satellite reception. |

Bonding of DVB-card by a user. |
There is an evidence of bonding if it is USB-device we can trace bonding only after its case is taken away. |
Users can install different electronic components. |
This card is deliberately damaged by the user and is not subject to change and return. |
